Beauty Talk: Healthy, glowing skin

10603529_10152812046408054_1668483225301958125_nWe all want glowing skin don’t we? And by glowing we mean radiating health, happiness and youth, rather than a shiny glaze of sweat from puffing our way up a few too many flights of stairs… How do we get glowing skin? Simple. Whether by treating the body from within, or applying tricks of the trade to the exterior, glowing skin is not impossible to achieve. And here are ten simple steps to follow… GO GREEN A healthy diet can do wonders to the quality of your skin. Incorporate a healthy dose of vitamins and proteins in your daily diet and notice the condition of your skin change for the tremendously. Figs, radishes, spinach etc are great for healthy, glowing skin. Nuts like almonds are also known to improve the quality of your skin. DRINK AN EXTRA GLASS OF WATER Another simple tip, but a very important one. Drinking water is so important for many aspects of your health, but for glowing skin it is essential. There is no better way to flush the toxins from your body, so get that bottle filled and up your intake today. To add a little flavour, try a skin-soothing tea like chamomile or mint. TRY JUICING We're sure you've heard that glowing skin begins with what you eat, but when you're a busy girl on the go (like us) how the heck are you supposed to get in all your fruits and veggies? Easy, try juicing! EXFOLIATE Over time, the natural enzymes in your skin work less effectively at removing dead skin cells, so they hang on and prevent your skin from reflecting light. The result? You look ashy and dull. Speed up your skin’s cellular turnover and smooth its surface by using a gentle exfoliant! So what are you waiting for? Try our blueberry bliss sugar scrub or our land and sea exfoliant for a super natural exfolaition! DON’T WAIT TO MOISTURIZE Most creams and lotions have key ingredients that create a protective barrier on the surface of the skin to lock in moisture, but because skin cools itself by evaporating water, you only have a few minutes before that hydration is gone forever. Slather on a moisturiser with natural silicone, while your face is still damp. Research shows that it locks in moisture for up to 24 hours, plumping and improving the appearance of fine lines as skin drinks up the moisture (like the difference between a raisin and a grape). USE A GOOD TONER And by good, we mean all natural. Our Sea Mineral Mist is beautiful- and fabulous for healthy, glowing skin. KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF YOUR FACE A simple trick, but one that works. Every time you touch your face you are transferring whatever you’ve been touching to your face. Germs and bacteria can hamper all your good work, so keep your hands to yourself! BE PATIENT WITH YOUR PRODUCTS We’re all in a hurry to see results, but putting on the brakes can ensure that the results you get are positive. When you’re starting a new product, use it every other day, and never try a few new buys at once. Even if you just got a new skincare system, introduce one product every three to four days at the least. You’ll rarely experience dryness, irritation, and burning. And if you do, you’ll know right away who the culprit is. Give any new potion at least 12 weeks (and up to 6 months) to see if it’s really improving your skin before calling it quits. TAKE OFF YOUR MAKEUP BEFORE BED It is important to remove oil and dirt from your skin to make it smooth and glow. If you sleep with the make up on, your skin is more likely to breakout and become dull. Most of us are too lazy or sleepy to use a make up remover before bed and then wash the face. Face wipes is the easiest way to cleanse your skin. GET YOUR BEAUTY SLEEP We know, you’ve heard it all before, but it’s called beauty sleep for a reason. Yes, you need to have a good night’s sleep in order to give your skin the proper beauty boost. Sleep deprivation lowers circulation, which is why you look dull and washed out if you only get a few hours. It’s also the best time to rejuvenate your skin. Your body’s cellular renewal team has the night shift, so this is when you want to equip your skin with as many nutrients and hydrating ingredients it needs to do a fine job. Taking these steps to nourish your body can have a huge impact on your skin! We'd love to know: Do you have any other tips/tricks that work for you? Please share below! xo Kimberley
