Eat your way to beautiful skin

green-smoothie-slider-1 green-smoothie-article-3 Most of us consider the products we use on our skin to be the most important thing when it comes to a glowing complexion. And whilst this plays a fundamental role, it's actually much deeper than that. In fact what we eat really affects our skin health too and some nutrients found in specific foods actually directly benefit the skin whilst others have exactly the opposite effect. The foundations needed for beautiful skin, begins with consuming the right vitamins and nutrients. Smoothies and fresh cold pressed juices are a great start! To anyone who knows me, my smoothie obsession is no secret. A smoothie on a sunny springtime morning instantly puts a kick in my step. Not only is it refreshing, but I feel good about having had a couple of servings of fruit and vegetables before 8am. My current favorite smoothie is mighty green and yummy, the perfect quick meal after a good workout. It is super refreshing, tropical and healthy! It doesn’t take much time or ingredients, no prepared juices (which can be hidden sources of sugar) and best of all: super filling! All you need is 2 juicy oranges, 1 mango, 1 banana and a big handful of baby spinach, as well as 250ml of water and a couple ice cubes. Throw everything in the blender, mix well & enjoy. If you’re having this as a snack, the recipe will make 2 portions, if you’re planning on making it for breakfast or another meal, go ahead and enjoy the whole thing yourself!     My new favourite smoothie to make at home is a kale and bluberry smoothie. Just add blueberries (I use frozen), a handful of kale, Non fat greek yogurt and a splash of orange juice – Delicious!!
